Jeb Bush: I Would Govern Like Lyndon Johnson As President Posted: 15 May 2014 09:38 AM PDT Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said he would strive to be like Lyndon Johnson, the Democrat famous for expanding the U.S. welfare state through the "Great Society," if he were elected president. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/02/15/Jeb-Bush-... Creepy cronyist, another scary one from the Bush clan.
US. Department Of Agriculture (USDA) Buying Sub-Machine Guns Posted: 15 May 2014 08:19 AM PDT Another odd solicitation to purchase by the US. government in the month of May. According the FedBizOpp.gov, (A known website for federal procurement opportunities is Federal Business Opportunities. This site has government contract opportunities greater than $25,000) U.S. Department of Agriculture ((USDA) is seeking to purchase sub-machine guns .40 Cal S&W, night sights and other firearm related equipment. Is the FDA going to war with the killer tomato? Or maybe they are doing special operations in the GMO cornfields?
17-year-old high school student beats sitting W.Va. lawmaker in GOP primary Posted: 15 May 2014 06:31 AM PDT CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A week before her high school graduation, Saira Blair was barely old enough to vote when she unseated a West Virginia lawmaker almost four times her age. After Tuesday's GOP primary, the 17-year-old is one election away from becoming the youngest state lawmaker in West Virginia history. Larry Swan, sworn in as a 20-year-old delegate in 1972, set the current record.
Is Today 'Lie about Ron Paul in Headlines Day'? (RPI) Posted: 15 May 2014 05:52 AM PDT Looking at the Washington Post and Rare, one has to wonder if today is Lie about Ron Paul in Headlines Day. First, the Washington Post published an article with the headline "Ron Paul thinks drug use is rampant inside prisons. He's wrong." That is a rather provocative claim. But, the claim is not at all backed up by the article.
Posted: 15 May 2014 05:41 AM PDT What happens when you take one of the wealthiest men in the world and you make him one of the biggest backers of a political party? You have politicians doing his bidding to eliminate business competition. That is exactly the threat online gambling is facing. Sheldon Adelson is one of the richest men in the world, worth an estimated $38 billion. Adelson is also a Republican and poured roughly $100 million into Republican campaigns in 2012. Now, in 2014 he is backing Senator Lindsey Graham.
Air Force Prepares to Dismantle HAARP Posted: 15 May 2014 04:58 AM PDT Anchorage Daily News: FAIRBANKS -The U.S. Air Force gave official notice to Congress Wednesday that it intends to dismantle the $300 million High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program in Gakona this summer. The shutdown of HAARP, a project created by the late Sen. Ted Stevens when he wielded great control over the U.S. defense budget, will start after a final research experiment takes place in mid-June, the Air Force said in a letter to Congress Tuesday. While the University of Alaska has expressed interest in taking over the research site, which is off the Tok Cutoff, in an area where black spruce was cleared a quarter-century ago for the Air Force Backscatter radar project that was never completed. But the school has not volunteered to pay $5 million a year to run HAARP. Responding to questions from Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski during a Senate hearing Wednesday, David Walker, deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for Science, Technology and Engineering, said this is 'not an area that we have any need for in the future' and it would not be a good use of Air Force research funds to keep HAARP going. 'We're moving on to other ways of managing the ionosphere, which the HAARP was really designed to do,' he said. 'To inject energy into the ionosphere to be able to actually control it. But that work has been completed.'
Traditional Irish Music (Part 3) Posted: 14 May 2014 07:36 PM PDT When I was 12 years old, I was invited to vacation for a week with my best friend at his relatives house in Connecticut. To prepare for the three hour drive, I did what any snot nosed brat kids would do. I went into my sister's room when she wasn't and dug through her music stash so that I might have something to listen to. I came across a CD named Celtic tides.

The Beautiful Irony of a Salon Hit Piece Posted: 14 May 2014 07:08 PM PDT In his recent article Benghazi nuts, anti-vaxxers, birthers: Do they really buy their own nonsense? Arthur Goldwag, writing for Salon.com, analyzes with cutting precision the psychology of how we all perceive the world, albeit with stunning irony. One's paradigm of perception is the lens through which she or he views the world. Goldwag appears to understand this point with surprising clarity.
