WA-04 LIBERTY Candidate Gavin Seim: Renews his vehicle licence... Gets roughed up for asking "Where is the weapons lock box?"

Posted: 23 May 2014 08:54 AM PDT

Stand on principle - These days even renewing a vehicle license is risky.

WA-04 LIBERTY Congressional Candidate Gavin Seim was surrounded by 3 Ephrata police officers and contract security guards, grabbed, and patted down. Why? Because he asked for the legally required weapons check "lock-box" at the Courthouse.

Rand Paul Interviewed by Tavis Smiley (Video)

On stuckness, grieving, remembrance and release.

Posted: 23 May 2014 05:11 AM PDT

In some ways, I feel stuck. Waiting for the storm. The epic sh!tstorm that They have been warning about for my entire life. It is supposed to begin any day now. Maybe even today.

But until that storm comes and goes, I feel a little paralyzed…

* * *

I met a guy who has been waiting for the storm since 1987. He thought the crash of that year was just the first leg down, and he's been waiting ever since.

I don't want to be that guy. Was that shift in the etheric weather real? Or was it just an illusion, perpetrated on my by my anxiety?

* * *

After the 2012 campaign had been over for some time, and the internet had devolved into bickering and confusion, I went out for a walk with a fellow Ron Paul supporter, someone who had been active in the fight.

"I can't believe it's over! I really can't believe it!" he said. It was a fine summer day, and we were walking down a residential street. His voice was loud and excited, his gestures animated. "I want to get that back," he said. "That feeling! You know what I'm talking about," he said, turning to me. "That FEELING!"

He described the feeling: It was a feeling of having a direction, a goal, and not being in it alone. Of working together with others, towards a common goal. Even though the groups were small, and sprinkled sparsely across the country and around the world, it didn't matter. We had the internet. We had the same playbook. We were making it up along the way! We were having fun! We were winning!

Is Rand Important to Anyone?

Repost from the Ron Paul forums by user ghengisconrad. Thoughts?

I'm a big Ron Paul guy. I mean big; I watched basically every television appearance from 2006-2012, went to Iowa the first time to go door to door, went to Rochester as a delegate, went to Bismark the second time. I mean, I'm in to it.

I thought he had a chance. I really did. I was insulated in my Ron Paul fandom sphere, and the first time around... I just didn't believe it. I remember watching the primaries, when it would be like, %37 reporting, Ron would be down by like, 40 points, but I'd think to myself "well he could still get 63% of them voting for him, so the math could still work out!".

I know now that was madness.

But hindsight is always 20/20. I wonder, am I doing that with Randal as well?

The Universe Simulated

Posted: 22 May 2014 04:30 PM PDT

Scientists at MIT have traced 13 billion years of galaxy evolution, from shortly after the Big Bang to the present day. Their simulation, named Illustris, captures both the massive scale of the Universe and the intriguing variety of galaxies -- something previous modelers have struggled to do. It produces a Universe that looks remarkably similar to what we see through our telescopes, giving us greater confidence in our understanding of the Universe, from the laws of physics to our theories about galaxy formation.
