A Hawaii man has been sentenced to a year of probation after making his son walk a mile home from school.
Robert Demond was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Demond explained that his son had been involved in some sort of rule-breaking at school. When Demond picked him up, he asked about it, but his son refused to respond. Demond then stopped the car and told his son to walk to rest of the way home to think about what he had done, reports the Garden Island.

What has happened to Dave Hodges?

I really like reading his site. It seems his site has been taking down(404 error) and his face book page has been removed. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I worry for him. He has been reporting some controversial stuff lately.

The ball's been snapped. The field is in play. Everyone is in motion, fighting.

You see the infraction! You see the infraction!! That's not fair! He can't do that!!!

What do you do? The competitor is bearing down on you! He's running at full speed! He's wielding an axe, and he's bearing down, in for the kill. This is sudden death!

What do you do?!

Signal the official?

Is that your plan?

Rand Paul Is Unelectable.. They Say

I was at a family party today and I always like to bring up Politics. Most of my family are Republicans but some are Liberal but they are outnumbered at Family gatherings. I always stand out though because I am a Libertarian. Being a Libertarian to them means never winning and activism. We are from Jersey so I over heard people talking about how bad Chris Christie is. I was glad to hear that but jumped in the conversation to see who they think could be the next 2016 President.

My Uncle said I like Jeb Bush.

Ron Paul Curriculum Rocks!

So, it was a long day driving to and from the Libertarian convention near Seattle. I was tired and feeling a bit down because of that. Ah, chores await me...needed to stop by the post office on my way through town, almost home.

I opened the envelope from the academic testing company. Would what I found inside pull the rest of the wind from my sails?

Just wanted to get the word out to the liberty community about what I feel may be a new threat to our right to chose NOT to vaccinate our children.

Today we received a letter from our pediatrician of 6 years that we must act quickly to get our children up to date on their vaccine schedule or we will no longer be served by their practice.

Something is Terribly Wrong: GDP Turns Negative & Housing Market Stumbles Yet Stocks Soar!

Stocks Soar While Housing Market Stumbles and GDP Turns Negative

Something is terrible wrong

According to Fed Chairs Bernanke and Yellen quantitative easing was supposed to boost the stock and real estate markets and produce a "wealth effect". The real estate market is slowing down with pending home sales, mortgage applications and sales plummeting but the stock market continues to hit new highs. When faced with poor economic data like a negative 1% GDP in the first quarter the media and the Fed put an unbelievable Panglossian spin on it.

Google Street View Shows Decay of Detroit Neighborhoods Since 2008

Since there's some attention coming this way, I should probably take a moment to explain this blog — which has mostly been a context-less index of stuff found while virtually driving the streets of Detroit. I'll start with this:

"Detroit's getting better — sure, there are neighborhoods that have problems, but they've been that way for 30 or 40 years."

I've heard statements like this a number of times in conversation and online. The idea that problems with Detroit's property issues are decades old. Some of the root causes are certainly buried that far back, but this idea distorts what I think is still a little understood fact: The 2008-9 financial crisis had a devastating impact on the state of property in Detroit.

Existential Ant

Posted: 31 May 2014 01:48 PM PDT

One day, there was a colony of ants on a hill. Radioactive lightening struck it, and the following day, the Queen laid a passel of glowing golden eggs, about a million of them.

Born among that generation were the smartest ants to ever grace a hilltop. Within a generation, the colony was positively abuzz with language and social activity, gossip and theology.

Among these unique ants was one individual who stood out for his keenness of mind. He was Ant Sartre, known for his brooding countenance and bouts of ant angst and philosophical pessimism.
