Posted: 03 Jul 2014 10:06 AM PDT In this episode of the Lions of Liberty Podcast, I welcome in libertarian activist, and host of "Adam vs.The Man", Adam Kokesh! Adam joins the show to discuss his new book "Freedom", which he hopes to serve as a guide to lead people to accept a more free society. Adam describes his journey from a libertarian-leaning marine serving in Iraq to the passionate anti-war, freedom advocate he is today. Adam and I delve into libertarian philosophy, and debate the root problems libertarians should be addressing to advance a more free society. As per usual, I wrap things up with my thoughts in the weekly rant!
NAPOLITANO: From an inherited tyrant to an elected one Posted: 03 Jul 2014 07:49 AM PDT In one week, the Supreme Court told the police that if they want to examine the contents of our cellphones, whether at traffic stops or serious crime scenes, they need to get a warrant. The court told small-business owners that they needn't pay for government-mandated insurance policies that provide for abortions for their employees, because the government is without authority to command them to do so.
Video: Ron Paul: Nation's Hospitals 'Under Siege' in Immigration Crisis Posted: 03 Jul 2014 05:15 AM PDT The ongoing crush of children illegally entering the United States has sparked a major health crisis at hospitals along the nation's border, Ron Paul, a former Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate, tells Newsmax TV. "Our hospitals have already been under siege by immigrants,'' Paul, an obstetrician, said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show.''

Police Confiscate Healthy Baby Because it Was Born at Home Posted: 02 Jul 2014 06:28 PM PDT Fatima Doumbouya had no idea of the horrors that would ensue for simply choosing to have her baby in her own home. Earlier this month Doumbouya, with her husband at her side, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in the comfort of their own home. For six days they enjoyed being new parents before deciding that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to get their newborn baby screened for any health issues. Little did they know that she would be kidnapped and they would be treated like incompetent criminals.

To all those who laughed at my business concept for gay wedding cakes Posted: 02 Jul 2014 03:05 PM PDT Now we have gay hamburgers. I can only hope that similar to my vision, these hamburgers are made with only the gayest ingredients by gay farmers on gay land. And of course, the cows have to be gay too.

| Washington Post: Why cops should be required to wear a lapel camera while on duty Posted: 02 Jul 2014 12:40 PM PDT BY TIMOTHY B. LEE | October 10, 2013 Police officers in Rialto, Calif., carry cameras to record their every action while on duty. The city says the program has reduced complaints against police officers by 88 percent during the first year. The idea is sparking debate across the country. On Wednesday, the American Civil Liberties Union endorsed the idea. In a short position paper endorsing the idea, it also emphasized the potential for the technology to be misused, and recommended policies to minimize the potential downsides. "Although we generally take a dim view of the proliferation of surveillance cameras in American life, police on-body cameras are different because of their potential to serve as a check against the abuse of power by police officers," the civil liberties group argues. |
