Posted: 05 Aug 2014 08:49 AM PDT I just want to point out that Greenwald's "bombshell" revelations have resulted in barely a blip on the American psyche. And once again he has fallen silent in reporting new revelations. I know some are going to say "it's because he's doing real journalism". It just doesn't add up to me though. He's had the Snowden docs for over a year. Supposedly they were extremely well organized. Yet Greenwald hasn't released any major revelations in quite a while now (the names of a few Arabs notwithstanding).

Fla. mom arrested for allowing son to play at park gets free legal defense Posted: 05 Aug 2014 05:29 AM PDT The heavy hand of Florida law enforcement slapped cuffs on a single mother last week for the crime of letting her son play at a neighborhood park by himself. Charged with child neglect, Nicole Gainey faces up to five years in prison. If convicted, her 7-seven-year-old boy could end up in state custody. Think the arrest is a small town one-off? Think again, says John Whitehead, a constitutional attorney for the Virginia-based Rutherford Institute. There are no unusual circumstances in this case, he told Watchdog.org. It could pretty much happen to any family, he said.
Visit the Wrong Website, and the FBI Could End Up in Your Computer Posted: 05 Aug 2014 05:21 AM PDT Security experts call it a "drive-by download": a hacker infiltrates a high-traffic website and then subverts it to deliver malware to every single visitor. It's one of the most powerful tools in the black hat arsenal, capable of delivering thousands of fresh victims into a hackers' clutches within minutes.
Ron Paul: Bring Edward Snowden Home Posted: 05 Aug 2014 04:11 AM PDT August 4, 2014 Former Rep. Ron Paul is renewing calls to grant Edward Snowden clemency and allow him to return to the U.S., amid doubts about the fugitive's expired asylum in Russia.

Update: Daily Paul New Registration Stats, Final Tally + Account Upgrades Posted: 04 Aug 2014 09:11 PM PDT Update: I'll begin updating new member accounts from comment only privileges to full privileges today. - - - Last Thursday, Daily Paul registration was open for 24 hours. We had a total of 483 new users who signed up! 217 were either spammers, never activated their accounts, or never made and introduction and thus had their accounts deactivated. Still, that is a net addition of 266 new users in one day. And it looks like we got some real quality people. New users still have probationary, comment-only accounts. I will begin upgrading the accounts tomorrow to full privilege accounts. Thank you everyone, and welcome aboard. M.A. Nystrom p.s. If you registered for an account, but did not make an introduction as requested, and have found that your account was deactivated, email me through the site contact form with the username and/ or email address you used to register and I'll reactivate the account for a day so you can make your intro.
