A girl thought to have died in the Indian Ocean tsunami has been reunited with her family after being found alive nearly a decade later, her parents said Friday. Raudhatul Jannah was just four when she was swept away as the disaster struck Indonesia on Boxing Day in 2004. After a month, her relatives assumed she was among the more than 230,000 killed. But in June, her brother spotted someone who appeared to be his long-lost sister walking down the street, according to German news agency DPA.

I was coming home from work yesterday and pulled down my street and saw a "solicitor" with a clipboard and a throw bag of pamplets knocking on my door. My first thought was, "who the heck is this and what are they selling?". He turned around as I pulled in and parked my truck. As I got out he asked if I was "Mr. Ulfilas", I asked who he was with. He said he was going door to door for "Texas Senate Candidate A" for my senate district, apparently our current guy resigned/died/quit and a special election was coming up i January 2015. He said he was out here early to get a jump on things.

Two years after he was the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate, former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico is launching a legal challenge to the Commission on Presidential Debates for excluding him from the debates. Johnson is expected to refile his challenge in Washington, D.C., in the coming days and he continues to work with political reform groups like his Our American Initiative and the Free and Equal Elections Foundation.
